A practical file-size guide
Compress an image to a 100 KB limit
Set a 100 KB ceiling, compare the result, and download a copy. PixelFit processes your image in this browser; it does not upload the image to a server.
Set the 100 KB targetThree steps
How to get an image under 100 KB
- 01
Open the compressor
The button above opens PixelFit in Compress mode with 100 KB already selected.
- 02
Choose a format
Add a JPG, PNG, or WebP. For a byte-size target, use JPG or WebP output. PNG is lossless, so PixelFit does not apply a byte target to PNG output.
- 03
Check before downloading
Process the image and review the size and before-and-after preview. If the target is not reached, try smaller dimensions, another format, or a higher limit.
What the number means
A 100 KB ceiling is not an exact output size
PixelFit tries to keep the result at or below 100 KB while respecting the minimum quality you choose. The final file may be smaller than 100 KB. If the image cannot fit at the selected dimensions and quality, the tool reports that the target was not reached instead of labeling it a success.
Private processing
Your image stays in this browser
The image-processing code uses browser image and canvas APIs. The image is handled locally and downloaded from a temporary browser URL; it is not sent to PixelFit’s server.
Common questions
Before you compress
Why might PixelFit miss the 100 KB target?
A detailed image, large dimensions, or a high minimum quality can keep the output above the limit. Reduce the dimensions, lower the minimum quality if the result still looks good, or choose a larger limit.
Will the photo look exactly the same?
Usually not. Smaller files require a trade-off between size and visual detail. Use the before-and-after preview and keep the original if the compressed result does not meet your needs.
Can I use a different size limit?
Yes. The PixelFit tool lets you enter another target from 5 KB to 50,000 KB. You can also open it directly with 50 KB selected, or read the 200 KB image guide.
Ready to check your image?
Start with the 100 KB target and review the result before you submit or share it.
